On September 10, 1959, Marcine Geiger gave birth to Lee Wilson Geiger. Lee’s middle name honors the memory of his maternal grandmother. Asked why she had a fifth child at age 40, eight years after she last gave birth, Marcine quipped, “He was conceived from the bottle of a bottom of bourbon on New Year’s Eve.” So, there’s that.
On March 18, 1991, Anne Geiger gave birth to Ross Alexander Geiger. Ross’s middle name honors the memory of his maternal grandfather. Having just witnessed the miracle of childbirth, the first words uttered by Lee were, “HE’S GOT RED HAIR!”
On September 25, 2023, Caroline Kelley Geiger gave birth to Zoe Ann Geiger. Zoe’s middle name honors the memory of her maternal grandmother, Ann Galligan Kelley.
For perhaps the first time in his life, Lee is speechless.
